About Paola

A Career Built on Evidence and Empathy

Paola Vargas is a first-generation Latina attorney, researcher, and mother whose work sits at the intersection of law and public health. Before law school, she spent nearly a decade directing research at national health organizations — a foundation that still shapes how she approaches advocacy today.

She graduated first in her class from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, an achievement she traces back to years spent translating complex health data into arguments that could change real outcomes for real people. Read more about how that research career shaped her legal practice.

Outside the courtroom, Paola writes. Her poetry grew out of the same instinct that drew her to public health and then law: a relentless pull toward the stories that usually don't make it into the official record.
